Companies with high brand awareness among consumers are under pressure from civil society to contribute to sustainability. Companies are adopting sustainable sourcing practices to reduce tropical deforestation in their supply chains. In addition, ESG management disclosures have made a company's ability to manage the social/environmental management of its supplier activities important. The purpose of this study is to identify the current status of ESG management activities for forest supply chain management of domestic companies, investigate influencing factors, and improve them efficiently. We analyzed data from a survey of 24 corporate representatives. Domestic companies are expanding ESG management budgets and manpower every year, but it has been found that they are having difficulties securing ESG expertise. A mechanism that affects ESG activities applicable to domestic companies is needed. |
