To evaluate the biodiversity changes and value of the Saemangeum poplar plantation established from 2012 to 2016, the flora and fauna were investigated and compared with the results of the previous survey conducted from 2013 to 2015. According to the previous flora survey results, annual herbs dominated in most of the survey sites. However, the results of 2022 survey showed that the transition to perennial herbs occurred rapidly. Also, the species diversity and cover degree were significantly increased. In the faunal survey, Felis bengalensis, a legal protection species, was identified and Hydropotes inermis was the most frequently identified species. As biodiversity and species richness increase in the future, the value of Saemangeum poplar plantation is expected to increase further. |
