要旨本文 | To quantify forest transpiration with stem sap flow measurements by thermal dissipation probe (TDP) method, the radial profile of sap flow needs to be considered into the quantification. Previous studies reported that the radial profile of stem sap flow varies with species, seasons and canopy structure. However, those effects on the radial profile have not been sufficiently explored. We thus measured seasonal and radial variations in stem sap flux density (SFD) for four deciduous broad-leaved species with different crown structures. Seasonal variations in the radial profile of SFD were found in Fagus crenata, but the radial variations in the environmental response of SFD were generally small, irrespective of species. Although marked species variations in crown structure were found, it did not explain the observed variations in the radial profile of SFD. |
