要旨本文	Water contamination caused by sediment outflow from upstream rude timber harvesting has become an urgent issue in Solomon Islands, leading to problems in downstream sites. This issue is expected to worsen in the future due to increased precipitation resulting from climate change. The majority of people in the region rely heavily on rivers and streams for essential household needs such as drinking, washing, and bathing. Excessive deforestation in upstream sites poses a significant risk to people's livelihoods, including their food security. The purpose of this study was to detect logging sites and their impact on downstream areas in Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands. Three watersheds with the threshold of 500, 1,000 and 10,000 of stream networks (66.05 ha, 135.1 ha and 1701.15 ha respectively) were used to calculate the impacts such as sediment transport on the downstream areas, and logging sites that might affect downstream areas were identified.
